  • Content Is Not The King OF SEO

I believe based on experience that Content Is Not The King OF SEO. What say you on this matter. Please Note: I didn't say good content is bad!

If you are saying good content equals good SEO then I would definitely disagree. I have seen lots of great content on sites that didn't rank for anything! That's kinda why there is SEO in the first place!

I agree that quality content matters. I was simply saying that it is not a factor in the Google algorithm.

But I think it still matters as I can't imagine an absolutely empty site on the top of prm only because the SEO experts worked hard and did all kinds of manipulations, but didn't pay attention to the content.

When I have a discussion about Google I like to go to Google For the answer. THis is what I found!

              “Offer quality content and services

Creating compelling and useful content will likely influence your website more than any of the other
factors discussed here. Users know good content when they see it and will likely want to direct other
users to it. This could be through blog posts, social media services, email, forums, or other means.
Organic or word-of-mouth buzz is what helps build your site's reputation with both users and Google,
and it rarely comes without quality content.”

So as I read this excerpt from Google’s SEO Starter Guide Quality content does have an indirect SEO benefit. If you have content worthy of linking too and if people can find your site they just might want to provide you with a useful Do Follow backlink.

Wow, that’s sounds more a mentally challenged like a third cousin than the king of SEO
              What say you?

Simple....if you rank #1 and your content or product is garbage.....you still have nothing....

Rank is not the magic that some believe makes money.....it takes much more...

Yep, I could not agree with you more. I am a big time advocate of quality content, but it just isn't the King of SEO, and Google agrees!

Quality content matters, links market a site and quality content maintains it.
Also backlinks are part of having good content, the better quality you have means you'll receive more backlinks from other websites linking to that content.

Having quality content is always the smart thing to do it just has an indirect impact on SEO through link building. But that requires that someone finds your website, likes your content, and then provides a do follow backlink.

If content were a factor in SEO the SERP's would look at lot different than they do today!

Content matters first. If you don't have good content on your webpage, then what is the use of creating backlinks. Backlinks will only be useful if we have good content. Content is superior.

As I have been saying almost forever... Yes, quality does matter very much it just has little to do with the SEO process.
