  • What you SHOULD do to have a SUCCESSFUL SEO - Onpage Optimization

This is in brief, the onpage search engine optimization stragety I use.

    - <Title>
Start you title with your most powerful keyword, continue with the less powerful.
At the end I usually put with "|" or "-" the inner pages. And at last the domain name.
It's usually useless to put it up front.

    - Meta tags
You sure have to add these tags - description, abstract, keywords, allow-search, robots, author and title
(except from <title> you should also have a tag title usually with out the domain name) on every page you make.

    - HTML Tags
The most important is Header 1 and should be used only once on every page.
You can also use Header 2 & 3 two or three times.
And Header 4 & 5 as much as you want.
Below the headers it's best to have the same keywords on you body text too.
You can use bold or italic to show high importance.

    - Keywords
Research in order to decide on your "keywords".
Think how your visitor might search you on his/hers search engine.
Check your text's "keyword density" usually with a free application.
    It should be between 3% - 5%.
Try to put inside your text, some synonyms for your main keywords.
It good to target some long tail keywords, as they are easier to get well ranked.
You webpage should be at least, with one query on the first page - this will help a lot.

    - Links
Use good anchor text for your internal link.
Try to boost you main keywords and phrases.
Don't use anchors like "click here", "download" or "this".
    They are not seo profitable.

    - Images
All your images should have an alt="describe your image with keyword".
Some images, like your logo, can have also a title="again you keywords".
But this will pop under the pointer when you mouseover the image.
So title is a bit annoying for the visitor!

    - Filenames
Well, all your filename are seo profitable.
    So use filenames like "buy-computers.html".
You images and especially you logo can have that kind of structure too, with keywords.
Even the folders can profit from that.

    - Url
    Url also has profitable keywords.
But don't make it too long.

    - Black Hat
Don't use any black hat technics on your business website.
    It's a russian roulette.

    - Use some nofollow on your page.

    - Link to some authority websites.

    - Validate your code.

    - Edit your Robots.txt file.

    - Add Sitemap.html, Contact info with adress and phone, Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

    - Don't add more that 100 outbound links on one page.

    - Use enough inbound and inbound-anchor links.

    - Use scripts at the botton (also good for rendering time). Search engines give less importance to lower part of the page.

There many thinks more and details about each element I wrote.
But these are the basic things that you have to startup with.
If somethink I not so clear to you, then just search the internet, there is plenty information on each technic seperatelly.
Read many opinions cause you have to decide what is best to do.
Don't use automation on any procedure.
Manually I believe is the best way to make the best seo campaign your page can have.

I am willing to answer on any questions you might have.

    Good Luck!
