Have you ever lost PR during an update? Like going from 6 to 3. If so, what do you attribute to your loss? Lack of updating original content or poor back links?

No I have never lost PR.

The reason why you would lose PR would be because you have back links from spammers or sites not related to your content, or if the sites that linked to you have no dropped.

I never lost significant PR although my site wavers between 2-3 on sometimes most of the time it sticks at 3 though.

I've had PR going down before, yes.

I think it's because some sites only show your link / the link is in a more prominent postion, for a short period of time.

Mostly though, my PR either stays the same or goes up.

I've lost PR1. I was having PR5 in one of my website and then i fell sick for about 2 weeks. And i was unable to check out my website and my server went down due to some technical problems and it was off for 10 days. Then when i started the site and checked and see that my pagerank has been decreased to 4 from 5.

its not a big deal Pr lost it happen always if your site have a good quality or link exchange with relevant site and also you have maintain your site than is less chance to drop your Pr.....

yes i have experienced this in this google update on April 1st, anyways no problem, sometimes it happens because of backlinks Page ranks and quality, but you can regain it by working on right strategies and on google parameters.

i think i will not wait for my site to lose pr., i will sell it even its pr is 5.

i have experienced it once with my PR 5 site which dropped from PR 5 to PR 3 few updates back
i think the reason would be bcoz of backlinks. the Quality backlinks which i had for my site must have been removed or devalued by Google as i used to update my site properly
