make sure you're listed on a maximum of search engines, even small regional ones.
i for example submit my sites to french, biritish, german, israeli.... search engines and directories.
i make small modofications each time for it to fit (hotels in germany for example when i'm going to submit to a german dir) and so on.
if you can't be asked to, there are loads of people out there who will do it for almost nothing
