Huge Traffic from Forum Postings

It is said that forum postings are responsible for a massive traffic to your websites via your signature link.

I am curious what do you think and what results are you having, what kind of traffic are you getting from your signature links.

Forums postings and signature means long term advertising, once you set it up it will keep providing you a reasonable amount of traffic.

I never get traffic from forum postings.
I only ever add links in my sig if the forum's like Digitalpoint or something.
Someone said something to me about it helping you with rankings or PR... Is that right?

Links in forums do help increase the number of backlinks for your site.

I think you have the ability to increase traffic to your site if you are a good, contributing member to a forum - people look at you as an authority and they are more willing to trust your site recommendations.

Yes it absolutly works. We do receive the back link bulding correct, however in our case we are selling a service to make others money for their business, so the click rates from our posts on forums including this forum work really well.
Of course busier the frum the busier the actual click to our site rate.

That's right, signature files from forum postings are responsible for a certain amount of traffic and Yes, they improve your PR!

You should add your signature file at every forum that you post at.

Forum posting also improve your search engine position. So its like hitting 3 birds (traffic, PR and SERP) with 1 stone.

You always get a backlink when you add a link in your forum signature and they build up quite quickly when you signup at many forums and post a lot. The traffic is not much but hey.. it is quite targeted traffic, I personally love forum signature links.

I am very discriminatory regarding the sites that I am willing to affiliate myself with, which is why I have a lot of success with my signature links. When people get to know me and they see what I promote, there is an inherent trust that exists. I don't have to "sell" anything because my reputation does the selling for me.

Of course that it makes sense. That how things are in the online community. Once you have established trust, you have credibility and more success with the programs that you promote.

These things takes time, but it worth it! Reputation is everything!

Forum posting works to an extent but I typically don't see much traffic from it despite my tendency to post in many threads/forums, I do it as a hobby ratehr than as an opportunity typically.

Extra backlinks is always good. Posting on high quallity forums with high PR can give you more traffic and also, higher PR.

Do it right and you will see the flow of traffic toward your site(s)...

You can get quite a bit of traffic, but you have to word your sig correctly, and make sure the traffic that gets there know what it wants to do.
