In my opinion flyers tend to be an effective way of promoting your business that is also cost effective, especially for businesses just starting and on a limited budget.

Do you think that flyers are one of the best options to promote your business? Also, Is there any legal issues with posting flyers through peoples mailboxes

Send emails with flyers looks like a spam method.
Im agree flyers is a good way to promote your site or whatever you want.

Yes there is a problem with putting flyers "in or on" peoples mailboxes.. You may put them on their door or use doorhangers.

Advertising through flyers is is cheap and effective. I don't think putting flyers in mailboxes is illegal. Just don't over do it

I live in Tennessee and it is. I did it and got a call from the post office letting me know it was. and I asked if it was ok to attach to the outside of the mailbox and they said "no thats illegal too". They suggested doorhangers.

I think this is effective if you have special promo offers. I for one tend to look for unique offers. For standard services, I tend to favor those with proven track records.

Using flyers is a good way of advertising your bussiness as long as they are given to the right topic of people who would benefit from using your site/business.

Depends on what type of business you're trying to promote
For example, you won't be able to sell domains by giving out flyers
But if you're promoting some free service like Free SMS site, or an Auction site, then definitely go for it

A lot of people dont read flyers anymore, and most think it is harmful to the environment so you should be careful with choosing this road.

For some types of websites flyers and business cards can be very effective. I run an affiliate site that deals with paid surveys and I print my own flyers with the little tear off tags. I hang them up at different places around town and whenever I travel. Good places are laundromats, shopping centers, and sometimes you can attach them to vending machines. I also have business cards and pass them out from time to time

If there is legal issues about posting fliers in people's mailboxes why dont you go into your local city centre and hand them out to passers by? I have found this to be an excellent form of marketing in the past.

People tend to trust a local business more, so that is a major upside to this strategy.

I read flyers. I have this notion that flyers have an important message to deliver to recipients. Flyers can lead to sales given the proper packaging (i.e using the flyer as a discount coupon).

Well, it depends on who your target customers are.
If you're promoting something local, then flyers would definitely be a very effective form of advertising.

People around where I live love to use flyers. They put them on the cars, in the front door. They're everywhere. It turns into litter sometimes.

We have tried flyers for one of the marketing activities in my company but guess you should use them only if you have a good product that can attract the masses. It doesnt help much to get many hits for your online business!
