What are the best free marketing methods?

[ScottHughes]

How can I get the most people to my site for free?

For example, say I had 2 hours to spend on marketing. What could I do in those 2 hours to get the most traffic to my website?

Re: What are the best free marketing methods?

I'll list few of them...

1) Forum signatures
2) Social bookmarking sites
3) Newsletter
4) Traffic Exchanges (But not recommended if you use PPC programs because they don't like this traffic). etc.

Re: What are the best free marketing methods?

The best free marketing methods are signature in forums and submitting to social bookmarking sites.

I suggest you make a blog at your website and constantly update it. SEs like fresh content!

Re: What are the best free marketing methods?

There is no one single way of doing it. Marketing is about putting up different combinations and see what works for you. Signatures in forums and creating an excellent blog are some of the ways.

Re: What are the best free marketing methods?

I have found article submissions to article directories quite useful for bringing traffic to the site.

However, I think it is better to submit to the higher PR sites such as ezinearticles and article dashboard. Also try to change the article somewhat before submiting to another site. This is because duplicated contents are not beneficial to traffic and SEO.

1) Signatures on forums
2) Submitting URL to directories
3) Giving some thing free to users so that your site can get more traffic

Re: What are the best free marketing methods?

The best free methods that i use and get results are manual traffic exchanges, blogging, banner exchanges and word of mouth.

Word of mouth can have amazing results if done correctly, especially if it's done by your visitors.

And to get traffic like that, you have to build a site that visitors will enjoy, and want to share with others.

Re: What are the best free marketing methods?

Let´s see.
The bests ways to make a free marketing is:

1- How everyone say, signature in forums (make something like 20-30 posts/day in 3 forums or more)

2- Put your link in something like 10 directories a day.

3- You write a article? So submit this in some article directory.

3- Make links exchange with others sites.

4- Enter in some bookmarkting network like domaindomaindomaindomaindomaindomaindomaindomaindo maindomaindomaindomaindomain or stumbleupon (read about this in my blog http://www.viniciusbalan.com/blog/20...l-bookmarking/)

5- Aways foques in your niche, if you have a blog about X post aways about X.

6- Try to optimize your websites making a good SEO.

Don´t forget, have a good and original content.

Re: What are the best free marketing methods?

Social bookmarking and forums are great. Article directories are over-rated imo. I actually use some of the PTC/PTR sites as they offer cheap packages to the masses. While a majority do not actually look at the sites, some do and for the price, it is well worth it for me.

Re: What are the best free marketing methods?

Use signatures in forums and pay some of the very high posters to add ur links to their sig. This does generate traffic.

Re: What are the best free marketing methods?

Link building is quite good. I'm still a DMOZ fan ( www.dmoz.org ) but that's controversial.

Another good way is to use Google to find links so for example put in Google "[keyword] add url" or "[keyword] directory". That could find you a number of links.

Good luck.
