Can google checkout become number One?

I am really waiting for Google checkout to spread its wings and extend its services to include more countries as quickly as possible.

With the backing of a leader like Google, do you think it would offer the best of services and ultimately become Numero Uno in payment processor segment?

For me not at the moment as Paypal has covered most of the countries already. Paypal is the payment processor widely used at the moment.
Google is indeed is a well reputed company and started Google checkout processor but it will take lot of time to cover the market. I am assuming still 3-4 years.

Actually paypal has been the leader in it for so many years, and google though a strong contender, has to do much marketing and effort to get more customers like paypal. But once google gets strong, it will leave all others behind, and that is for sure.

Paypal is the king in payment processing across the world at the moment. Also, Google checkout has to come up with some unique services to beat paypal. And it will take many years for sure.

Yes also Google checkout is not available worldwide. So in order to spread their legs worldwide they really need to improve their network and strategies.

yes it can but right now everyone uses paypal. I like google checkout, but paypal is used more by the majority of internet users. Google will step up one day but probably not as number 1.

Well, for me google checkout can not beat paypal at the moment. Paypal has already set their mark but since checkout is google's product I assume it will give tough competition to paypal

Yes, I have been hearing this news since year's now that checkout is Google's product and will compete with paypal but so far it does not seems like this. I guess it will take year's now.

certainly since it is not available worldwide, it is tough to manage with google checkout. I hope they will soon start their services worldwide so that everyone can take advantage.

I guess never.. Paypal is going strong and it is at number 1 and then it is alertpay !
So, google checkout has to leave these two giant behind to be no. 1, and which I feel almost impossible for the next 2-3 years.
