I have just entered the SEO world. Being a newbie, I am always afraid of being conned. I have heard that there are many sites that cheat a webmaster or a consumer to gain money. Hence, I want to know if it is the same case with directories or not. I have read in many articles that submitting sites or articles to leading directories could be helpful. If it is from a same niche, it can boost web traffic as well as SEPR. Is this accurate? Is there a cost involved? Do I get this service at a bargain price?

Its upto you to get cheated or not.
Do not submit your site into the directories where they ask money for the listing.
There are several free web and article directories which takes some time to list your website but do not charge anything.

Its up to you getting ripped off or not. Do not submit your site to directories where they demand money for registration. There are many free web directories and article that take some time to list your site, but do not pay anything.

I am not sure if submitting in directories are any better because last month I submitted nearly in 1000 directories but didn't see any significant result.
