SEO content v/s reader content

[jessehebrew]

Please clear my confusion. When I am running a website, will I concentrate on creating reader content or SEO content? I thought that it is ultimately about readers and visitors of the website. So, the content should be readers-specific. If I am right, then why do people say that SEO content is a must to have? Is SEO content appreciated by the reader? I am also wondering if there is any difference between SEO content and reader content. Please share your knowledge with me. It might help me developing the content for my site. Thank you very much in advance.
