    How to get links for site?

    I am a new member in the forum. I am new to SEO and online business. I have just gained theoretical knowledge. Once my friend told me to take charge of his website, and build more links so that the website can rank high. However, I want to know what I should concentrate on to get links for his site. I have read that forum posting and blog commenting are the most effective and easy ways to generate traffic. But, does an SEO expert also agree to this statement. Can anyone recommend any other SEO service to build inbound links?

    You don't know how to get link and here you have added signature in your post, Interesting.
    Anyway there are many options for getting link which is given below,
    Directory submission,
    Keyword submission,
    Forum Posting [Like you have done]
    Blog commenting,
    Article Submission,
    Press Release Submission.
    Diet Plans, Cardiovascular Exercises
    Alternative medicine, High Blood Pressure

      Posting on forums and blogs are indeed very good, and I dare to say, the most popular backlink building techniques. You just need to be a contributing member of the community, don't post for the sake of dropping your links. The majority of the mods and admins won't tolerate such a behavior.

      Other methods, beside the ones mentioned in the post above, would be guest posting (write articles for another website, and they will give you a backlink in return for your content), participate in social bookmarking and networking sites (they are not only good backlink sources, but will also bring lots of traffic as well), write a squidoo lens.

      But the most important thing remains a quality and unique content, something worth linking to, this way people might link to the website without even being asked to do so. The content should remain a priority.

      And one more thing, you should focus on one way links, try to avoid as much as possible link exchange schemes like reciprocal links. A few of them won't hurt, but do not overdo...

      He didn't say that he has no idea about link building, he is just looking for new ideas, tips and such to build inbound links, besides       forum posting and blog commenting.
      You should pay more attention before judging people. Not cool man, not cool...
