  • A Brief Overview Of How Google Ranks Websites

    Hi Everyone,
While many Internet Marketers and especially Affiliate Marketers will do whatever they can to make sure that people fear Google as much as possible, it really isn't something that we need to worry about. It is something that we need to understand more than anything, and keep that knowledge up to date as much as possible.

Affiliate Marketers have been slapped in the past by Google, many people being left without an income, however the key issue here is that they could have known what was about to happen, if only they understood above all else what the mission of Google is, and how they will continue to deliver results to the public.

So, what is the goal of Google? Simple. The search engine exists primarily to deliver the highest quality results to the person who is searching. To Google, this means information rather than a myriad of pitches and dodgy marketing tactics. This applies to not just the organic results either, this also applies to AdWords Ads too.

So, what powers Google? What makes it so accurate that people continue to search for content on the web using their search engine? Simple. The power behind the search engine is a very complex algorithm, or a very large mathematical equation if you will, that serves to measure all pages in Google's index against a series of criteria, so that they can display the page that they deem to be most relevant to the person who is searching.

Whilst we can never be absolutely certain of what key factors this algorithm considers, what we do know is that a combination of the number of backlinks that you generate, diversity of those backlinks, and keyword placement on page are the biggest key considerations that the search engines refer to when ranking a page.

So, what is the moral of what I am telling you today? Over the past few years, many people have been stung by Google, whether it be affiliate marketers, PPC advertisers, and more recently, those who compete within the organic search space. By simply taking the time to understand what the goal of Google is, this can make quite a difference.

Just think about it for a moment. If you consistently deliver high quality content that is keyword rich that serves to solve a problem, build some links to the content plus allow others to link to the content through social media, you will see yourself ranking higher, and staying in that position regardless of what Google throws at you. Just so long as your goal is to deliver the highest possible content to the end user, Google will rank you so that your content goes to that end user.

At present, Google is making use of a combination of methods to give ranks to the websites indexed on its pages and it seems that the Google algorithm is still too complicated to figure out and even experts have not found some clear web strategies to employ.

It seems that content rich websites which are containing valuable articles, tips and points about niches in which they are operating and the domains which are also powered by one way links, coming from relevant sources have better chances to be liked by Google and getting finer ranks in the long term.
