Do follow links basically passes the value which converts into SERP and PR & makes you more visible in Search Results.

No Follow links are basically divert referral traffic to your web site.

But for a Web Site you do need a complete range on Back links, in a mixture. Priority goes to Do follow, and make some ratio of No Follow as well.

Dofollow divert the search engine to your site, more quality dofollow links help increase your PR and your rank in SERPs
Nofollow bring traffic to your site, not help increase your PR

No-follow links are not readable by bot. No-follow links are only good for Human Traffic which is still the best traffic you can have. There are may sites having No-follow tag, but those No-follow links can still send you traffic because we humans are not governed by the No-follow and Do-follow Markup as the Search Engines are.

Do-follow links are readable by bot and it's passes the link juice value. Do-follow links are good for Human Traffic and SEO Traffic.

What do you mean when you say link juice? Also, is there a way you can increase your ranking in the search engines by posting in dofollow blogs and forums?
