I want to rank a website for USA only. Which domain would be better for me .com based domain or .us based ?? Please recommend ?

I would still go for .com but I believe either will do. It is up to your marketing strategies though. -

Hi,
I myself did buy a .us domain name before and used it for a video blog targeting US visitors. I think it doesn't make any difference in terms of SEO when compared to .com. The biggest drawback is you can't use whois guard (for namecheap service, other domain registrar might use different terms) on .us domain name.Comment

For SEO purpose, .com is the best web extension. But if you need to focus on local market then go for local based domains for local SEO.Comment

which kind of business do you have? if you don't provide service outside the USA then it doesn't make any sense to buy the .com domain. go for .us
