Can Facebook beat Google?

Some people prefer their face book friends over Google for buying a product or service.

One of the advantage of Face book is that you get feedback about buying a product/service which search engine do not provide.

I think in near future, Facebook is going to give tough competition to Google.

Sometimes, I think it can overcome Google.

What's your opinion about it?

I think no, google is a search engine while facebook is a social site, in google you can often find all of the things combined in one query, so it's google for me.

For me, the two sites are different, facebook is a social site, google is search engine.

Yeah.. They are two completely different things, Social Networking and Search engine, Honestly, you can not compare them, thus they are both good in their own way.

This two things are two different things. So it is not possible to compare. But If you are strict to compare then I will say from my view that as a search engine there are a lots of people who uses google but not facebok rather than vice-versa.

Ofcourse facebook wont overcome google. Just imagine how many people uses google everyday (99%) and imagine how many people uses facebook (40-50%), so in a fact, facebook will never overcome google, because google is a information source, you can get there any information you need, also google gets every day more popular because of it's translator. Now talking about Facebook,what can you do there? you can play games and talk to your friends and nothing more. But thats only my opinion.

These two are very different from each other. Google is a search engine and we all know that FB is a social networking site. I don't know how one can compare these two. It's like comparing apples with oranges.
