I think one of the way of making your product or brand promoted in Social networking sites is through participating in forum discussion.

If you post wisely in social networking sites, people may get an idea that you are a knowledgeable person, they may buy your product or service.

I haven't tried it, but I would like to listen to your experiences regarding this.
