Shimla is an awesome place to make a visit too. The awesomeness is enhanced at the time of summers. Every year in this period the Shimla administration organizes a summer fest. This fest gets organized for attracting more tourists. In year 2012 it got held from 2nd till 6th of June.

The festival celebrates the warmth and cheerfulness of the people of hill station, who welcome the tourist from the depth of their hearts. The Governor, Smt. Urmila Singh was the Chief Guest.

The Shimla Summer Festive has a good motive. It celebrates with pomp and vigor the warmth and good approach of the hilly area natives. It is believed and argued that the people at hilly stations welcome the tourists with an open heart. This festival celebrates that. In June as the festive got arranged people started pouring in. The Governor, Smt. Urmila Singh was invited as the chief guest.

Besides cultural programmes and Himachali folk artists by locals, there was star performances by Udit Narayan, Hema Sardesai and Hans Raj Hans. Himachal food fest, painting competitions, dog show, baby show, band competition, fashion shows, flower shows and display of Himachali handicrafts are some of major attraction of festival.
