          In my modest opinion, softlayer offers good servers , the problem is that servers are not cheap

              Can't say the cheapest are the best, the best are those with additional features:remote reboot, remote backup space, automated restore of OS, Serial Console.
              I'd say ahosting.biz dedicated offer can be interesting.

                sweetnatie is partially correct, the best service is dependant on server quality, support, uptime and a various other elements. If you purchase a cheap server you wont get the same features as a premium dedicated server.

                      VPS is normally $1 per 1GB which is normal price anything cheaper is a bonus.

                          Liquidweb and ManageMyBox

                          I've used dedicated servers at liquidweb and managemybox and they're both great. At managemybox you can get a dedicated for as low as $65/m for an Athlon with 120G hard drive and 750G bandwidth. Both providers have helpful and knowledgeable support staff. I'm especially impressed with the support I got at liquidweb. I got all my tickets answered within at most a couple hours (even in the middle of the night) and often within minutes.

                            For dedicated servers it is best to go with quality. Don't skimp on the price because you might regret it later.
