Does your webhosting company limit the number of domains you can add to your reseller account? My webhosting company has limited it to 40 domains (for my package) which seems reasonable way to stay away from server overload.

I think it's very wise otherwise they'll be overloaded.Originally posted by PositiveDoes your webhosting company limit the number of domains you can add to your reseller account? you mean in your reseller account or as addon domains ? But even with few but high traffic sites a server might get overloaded so I don't know its worth or not.Originally posted by PositiveDoes your webhosting company limit the number of domains you can add to your reseller account? It is often rare for resellers to limit the amount of domains. It sounds like the host is concerned about the overload. Often time host providers oversell with the appearance that you have unlimited usage and then would you use a lot, they close your site because of excessive usage.
In my opinion, overselling should be illegal because it causes problems for everyone. However, just about every host provider does it and seems to get a way with it.

The reseller hosts I've tried have always given me the 'unlimited add-on domains' feature. But the non-resellers have always limited my add-on domains. One account told me I was only allowed 5 but they're still not allowing me to add a second domain!
Another hosting have permitted me to add 5.

There is no valid reason for a limit with a name based IP service. Each name is just an entry in the config file.
There are strong valid reasons for space, bandwidth and server load.

Personally, I dont think its a wise idea since it limits you from how much customers you would have, thats if im right.
