Actually overselling is something that is not good for the clients.. So if the company allows overselling that means their resellers may offer you more than they actually have. Nothing good in overselling, especially if someone knows...

Suppose you have 10GB space and 100GB bandwidth then you can oversell after 10GB and 100GB is used but you will have to pay extra for them

Overselling function is enabled by many companies and it's quite normal for reselling. Apthost.com allows it in their plans as well. It brings good income.

MMhosting.com unlike the overselling itself is highly recommended host. They are cheap and professional, allowing overselling means they give you rights to offer more than you actually have, but this practice may harm the business with the same chance of making it more profitable...

Over selling only leads to an excessive usage of the resources... mean, it is only selling of something that the company does not have in reserves...

Overselling is not good for server which reduce the server performance which help to get reduce speed of website which was running

Sometimes overselliing means the brand is good. But I think if you can't fulfill your buyer's need, your reputation will be damaged.

OverSelling Allowed and Overselling are slightly different. Especially with CloudLinux in the Picture.
OverSelling in WHM means, a client can sell more than he is allocated provided his ACTUAL usage remain withing his Quota. This is good for the client as his can make most of his allocated resources.

Ear;ier this used be a great issue, but with CloudLinux we are mostly able to keep the clients within certain limits of CPU/RAM usage.

Now, When server is oversold ( from the providers perspective ) is it indeed a sign that the server is being over used and will result in sluggish performance.
