I found one that checks your site every fifteen minutes, gives you updates via cell phone and or email and you can check as many of your sites as you need.
It says it's free but I'm not sure.
Check it out here:

That seems Free. But I ll register and check it out and post back here. If there are more free site monitoring services like to hear about them.

here is also a good site to check the uptime of your sites.
I'm using that site now.

Monitoring of 5 applications (http, https, smtp, ftp, etc.)
Verification every 10 minutes
Email and SMS alerts
Daily, weekly and monthly reports by email

Hmm their free package verify only in every 60 minutes not every 10 minutes. If you want it for every 10 minutes then have to buy the full package. But still its free so not that bad.

I use internetseer.com They provide free monitoring and will notify you through emails about downtimes and uptimes of your server. They also send you weekly summarized details about your server
