Joomla is a free cms where you can build up your website. it is great for beginners as well as experienced web designers and web masters. i've used it several times and i loved working on it. making templates for it in dreamweaver is really easy.

anybody else here ever use joomla for their site or even to test it?

    Re: Joomla

I also used joomla for some of my sites and its really easy to configure and manage your site. You just need to install some mods or extension to make things work such as adsense...

I haven't tried Joomla yet. I've heard a lot of postive feedback to it though and I think it's worth giving it a try.

I got stuck with Mambo. They are relatively the same. The core group which made Mambo also created Joomla so they have striking similarities.

            Re: Joomla

I used to use Joomla! but I found that it was quite slow for visitors and very slow in the Admin CP. Does anyone else find that?

I don't use it anymore now.

              Re: Joomla

Joomla is supposed to be pretty good. I've heard about some problems when you're working with Joomla and firefox though. Maybe these are isolated incidents though.

                Re: Joomla

Joomla is the best CMS i've used. The tons of extension and theme developing community is top class. I don't really like drupal because even the paid themes suck.

                Cheers

                  Re: Joomla

Joomla is very gud. 10/10 for it. First, its open source, second, its free.
Third, being OpenSource, and free, it still manages to have tonnes of features and
pretty good security. It has loads and loads of optional mods, something that makes it much better. Have a look at www.ubuntu.co.in/home to have a look at one Joomla site.

                    Re: Joomla

I would higly recommend Joomla. I think it's the best CMS out there. Joomla is also offered through most cPanel/Fantastico as a one click install.

Joomla is my favorite aside from wordpress. It is very easy to install since cpanel and fantastico often comes with this.
