XEN vs OpenVZ

as I heard OpenVZ is faster & easier but XEN is more stable and configurable. Is this true?

Yes that is true!

With XEN it's just more like having your own real dedicated server, You can load your own kernel and you won't have to pester your host to change your /proc/user_beancounters, if needed etc.

Guys I have heard a lot of Slicehost. Im currently being moderately satisfied with the customer Vpslink 2 VPS there. OpenVZ use Vpslink, Slicehost uses Xen. What is the difference? What are the advantages / disadvantages of each?

Xen also requires fixed memory and disk definitions, OpenVZ allows for burstable memory usage. That is the biggest difference you will see, burstable memory rates on Virtuozzo offerings, whereas Xen has hard, fixed caps. Burstable memory is great if you have control over all of the virtual servers (everyone is friendly), but when you have a diverse environment like ours, we prefer hard memory caps (you get what you pay for).

Technically, OpenVZ is better than Xen, but as in hosting business, Xen is suggested for performance concern, because they will big big oversale on OpenVZ.
