Which VPS provider is better, digitalocean or linode?

I'm planning making my own personal website, and I want to host it using a VPS service.

I googled a lot about VPS providers, and I found these two pretty good. They are Digitalocean and Linode.

But I'm having a hard time deciding which one to use, I mean I kind of like both.

Can some one who have used these two services before give me some advise? Much appreciated.

Go to a few hosting review sites and read what people have said, there is a high chance that a host has written positive things about himself so you are looking for negative reviews because those will tell you the truth.

They have good reputation in the hosting services market - you will not regret a thing.

Digital Ocean is great. Linode was mixed until they upgraded their hardware recently, have heard good buzz about their new configs.

Part of the problem is both of them are reputable and choosing between these two is totally depend on you and your requirements. You better contact both of them directly and try to figure out which one can meet your needs with affordable solution.

From my experience Digital Ocean is bad on DDoS Attacks example 100 MB Attack they simply Null Route your IP for hours or Suspended account like it happened to one guy I know.

Both are good with a lot of overlap. Linode has a great deal on offer with easy to use and simplicity advantages.

Both a re comparable at the same levels and offer similar server configurations at same price. However the known cons for DigitalOcean at an intermittent low throughput speeds and for Linode is lower SSD storage.

However if you can configure your server yourself in a way to secure it & yet accelerate it's performance, then you can go ahead with any of them (depending on the datacenter location of your choice).

You may also try Managed Cloud Hosting if you don't want to get into troubles of setting up & maintaining the server by yourself.
