Hi i am thinking of using my spare pc as a small server for my needs... i have a 2mb connection with 256 upload. do you think that connection will be good or my sites will be too slow?

the 256 upload is all that matters. And yes, if there is more than 4 users on your page, then it will be slow. Plus, most ISP's never give you the speed that they advertise.

I'd use my own PC as a host only for testing.
For my "real" websites paid hosting is much more reliable and easier.

I think it wont bee so fast, but also it wont be a slow site. I think you can try that "Spare PC"

Sounds good 256 is a good rate also make sure you have nothing valueable on your pc i have heard of pcs being hacked threw hosting.

I agree with you paid hosting is good for live websites you run smoothly
