Host locally or abroad

[aripaandre]

Do you have websites? Do you prefer to host it locally in your country or overseas hosting company? What are the pros and cons?

[Izlik]

most of my sites are in english so i preffer to host them on a gigabit connection arround the US area. I currently have 1 server in chicago!

I host my sites in US. mostly for the reduced rates due to competition and falling dollar value makes it cheaper to host it there.

but what you need to find out is whom your target audience is. It might help to host locally if all other technical features (bandwidth etc) are same and your audience is local audience

Reseller web hosting allows the important advantage of revenue stream generation for the businesses who don`t have some time, money, or resources to keep their particular servers and data centers. Furthermore, it is a fantastic business opportunity for those who want to develop a standalone business venture, or for those with additional parallel organizations who usually takes advantage of the possibility to sell hosting with their companies.
