What are you looking for from a host?

[gjvblack]

Any ideas what you guys would want to see from a host or are looking for from a host? I need some help on this. Please give info as much as you can. Thanks!

[puffin]

usually it depends on what I need for each site or set of sites. Basically i think about the price, quantity and the support. Also the control panel. It would be great to have cpanel hosting but also directadmine and vista panel is good too.

Cheap hosting. Reliable. Preferrably free

Looking for a hosting service i first keep in mind what sort of site i will host there, what are the charges, uptime, and most important it's flexibility

I need to have:
- Good pricing
- 99% uptime (as much as possible, in other words)
- Solid support via e-mail

If I can install Joomla or Wordpress with the click of a button, that's nice too

All hostings should have:
-100% uptime
-good support staff and sections like forum, ticket (helpdesk) and chat (i don't like emails).
-instant activation and a good billing system, integrated with control panel

1st is bit established ones who wont run away with my money. I want the host who likes to be in the business n grow...not who want to make short time profits

2nd reliable(some brand type) and good support...which replies in 24 hrs to email queries

3rd -uptime,speed,nice servers(usual performance like sites should nto be every slow due to host n it should not be down frequently )

I see, thanks for your info and recommendations. I will take it deeply into consideration, thanks everyone! please post more if you do have any more you want to say.

I am Agree With You

[Aspire7]

I'm not that particular about the cost and price but basically what is important to me is that, they must be excellent in their web support. I don't like to hear answering machines for my calls. Another would be uptime and bandwidth limit.

[lihen]

I would also like to add to my list above
Bandwidth offered
Web space (if you are having a heavy site)

well i added this because recently my host told me that i have exceeded the bandwidth limit. :-(

[gjvblack]

Haha, true, i hate answering machines especially when your site is like hacked or something... then there comes the bad remarks....

[Jerlene.net]

My main thing is support. I love to know that if I'm having trouble with my website, I can go to them for help.
Another thing would definitely be disk space and bandwidth.
I want to know that a few photos and visitors won't cause my site to crash.

The main things I am looking for from a host are well-organized and well-educated support staff which can explain everything you want or need, high speed, 99% uptime. And, of course, I look at the given prices for traffic and disk space. Another important thing you should notice is how many mailboxes POP3, FTP accounts, total domains and databases the package includes!
