  • HostGator

I only started using them last year but I've had absolutely no problems with them since. I had one site hosted with them and they always asked me if I needed help with anything, I never asked them.

The thing that bothered me was that they required phone confirmation to unlock a few features but that was okay. They weren't absolutely necessary, it just would have been nice to be able to access them.

Anyone else using them? Any positive or negative reviews you want to share?

Well I haven't used them before. Do they have Cpanel ? if not, whats the hosting control panel do they use ? International phone charges is a prb but since it must be one time thing i guess its not a big deal.

When I first signed up with them, they were using cPanel. By the time I left, they switched to something else. I can't remember what they're using now.

I don't advice hostgator because it doesn't have its own dedicated servers but its support is very good.
It has all dedicated server in ThePlanet.

You think paying for a bunch of features but having a few of them be limited is not a big deal?
Let me guess, you were once with 1&1 and/or RegisterFly.

Can anyone tell me whether they allow .co.uk domains to be hosted there? Im interested in using them but, couldn't get the sign up to work with .co.uk.

i have heard hostgator allows adult content on the sites hosted with them.. just wanted to know whether they really allows these content or it just a myth?
i am looking for a host for my image hosting site (adult) so want to know if they actually do allow adult materials? (both on their shared and dedicated plans)

I don't know if it allows adult content? Maybe put in a ticket or do a live support thing.

You should not concentrate your attention only on Hostgator.
Nice shared hosting with powerful network and good uptime you may get from SharkSpace.com at affordable prices.

Since I try to avoid dealing with large companies, preferring average-sized I have no personal experience with Hostgator, but except for positive feedbacks I have met plenty of negative reviews of this company - some people say they have awful customer support, some even cleim they have eliminated the accouts after getting money...

I do not want something like that is to happen to me... and that is why I do not use and do not recommend companies which could be too large for the single client.

I don't have any deals with biog companies. They don't have much time for their clients.
