Average cost for a shared hosting package would be around 5 usd. Thats with majors players in web hosting game like Hostgator and Godaddy. you can find hosting for far less prices but problem is the quality.

The 5 USD amount mentioned by puffin is for a month and, in my opinion, there is no services provider that is giving you space for only a month... you have to signup, at lest, for a quarter or might be for a year contract... almost all the service providers give their customers different choices for payment i.e. you have to pay the prescribed amount monthly, quarterly, bi-annually or annually...

The actual price will depend on different things like space, bandwidth, OS, supported programming framework etc.

Usually it is around $5 a month, for better quality I tend to stick to better hosts such as ThinkHost which are lesser known for a few bucks a month more.

The cost of a web hosting service depends on your requirements. In general, if you are looking for a good and reliable shared hosting service for one or several sites, then you shouldn't expect it to be cheaper than $7 per month IMHO

the cost of web hosting depends on the type of hosting u need.... it depends on the amount of space u need on the server... so think about that and then go to a hosting site and ask them.... they would help u in a better way....

if you want for low then the quality is very poor like free host but i suggest to you to go middle service providers like smaller host

Not at all. minimum is 2 months for shared hosting and there is no setup fee. you can pay with paypal or credit card. You don't need a credit card to register but of cause you need one to pay. You need some kind of payment methods to pay for any hosting provider.

Depends. Companies like HostGator, Hostmonster, Bluehost, offer you hosting for 5-7$. Thats shared hosting. On their servers, there are thousands of accounts. So, I would go for 15$ - + monthly, but on server with not over 300 accounts.
