Different Registrar & Hosting

Is it better to get domain from different registrar than your hosting provider? I heard by some people that one should avoid getting both products from one company...

Yes, if you get both from one company if the company goes bankrupt or changes ownership etc. they might seize your domain name.

I always keep my domains at a very reliable registrar (GoDaddy) as the domain name is way more important than the hosting. If you lose your hosting account for a reason or another, you can always change the host and setup a backup copy of your site at a new host. On the other hand, if you lose your domain registration, then you lose everything.

i get only the domain names... i have my own hosting servers at my house... so i think i have all my data with me and it is safe from any one to take away my data... or hacking my data.... i would like to tell u people also do the same try to host your own server... it is always good and cost efficient....

yep i think domains never get registered with the hosting provider :P it is not secure in my views. spouse if they terminate your hosting account they will also terminate your domain or sell your domain to some one else

Its lot better keep Domain names and web hosting with separate service providers. Mainly because if you getin to a trouble with service provider would loose both hosting and domains.

it depends on you, you can have them on two different companies that will avoid ny company gaining access to your full system or you can go for one company shot that will relieve of maintaining two accounts.
I would rather say go with the cost effective thing

Well this is becuase if your account will get suspended for any reason then u will loose both ur domains and hosting accounts. If you keep domain at some other company and hosting at some other, u will face partial loss always.

I don't see anything bad in registering domain name with one and the same company. For example, Marblehost.com actualizes free registration of domain name if you buy any hosting plan. It seems to be reasonable.

I consider the price of domain name, I would choose the most appropriate domain name registrars to register my domain name..

If you are getting profit in their service cost then there is no problem to choose both services from one company . If you lose your reception explain a reason or others, you can always change the host centre and install a backup copy of your site in a new host centre.

If you need a simple hosting and are limited in funds it is better to use the services of the hosts which give free domain name registration (like marblehost.com) Otherwise it is better to use services separately using the offers of ICANN-accredited registrars as sibername.com for example.

I think if you want highly Security about your domain name than chose different Company otherwise we have always choice to switch Company !!

If to put everything in one I think one of the clearest providers offering free domains is glowhost.com. This company has excellent reputation and the terms of their services are clear and honest.
