What is PHP?

What is the use and how it helps? I am clueless. I have heard about it alot of times however this is the first time i am seeking some one's help on this.

php is a programming language if you want to learn then search in google for tutorials
now php is mostly used by many webmasters and any scripts are on php

Its a server side scripting language. you use it when you want to make your site dynamic. like if you want to change the headers or footers of your web pages in one edit.

as puffin said it's a server side scripting language, which means that you can code server side functions with this language.
It's simmilar to the codeing used in .asp and.jsp pages. I think it's pretty flexible than the other two.

you can learn it online and make easier to customize websites etc also you gain knowledge and will earn more money but it requires some time

sarinpankaj : if you want to make dynamic sites you have to get one of the SSS . As in one of your other threads you had asked how to protect site from hackers.... Server Side Scripts are the starting to get your protection started...
