1-5 sign ups a month, gives you $50 per sign up.
6-10 sign ups a month, gives you $75 per sign up.
11-20 sign ups a month, gives you $100 per sign up.
21+ sign ups a month, gives you $125 per sign up.

somewhere in the ad i got a promo code from hostgator.. it said i have to pay only 1 cent for the first month and after that 9$ per month...

yep did used hostgator, their services were good, i was quite satisfied with the hosting service, but after that i found a better host (cost effective) than it so i switched it over.

I had thought about signing up for hostgator before I signed up for my current hosting. I saw three shared hosting plans in host gator and I was confused which one to get. But then I found out my current hosting which offers only one plan at a much less price than hostgator so I chose not to use hostgator.

This part is definitely true. Hostgator often has deals such as sign up for 1 PENNY for your first month, and you get paid nice for this. We’ll discuss the actual pay rate below.
They are a reliable hosting/affiliate company.
While there are always a few horror stories, Hostgator does not have a bad reputation as a hosting company or as an affiliate program. Everything I have read, plus my own personal experience has proven that they pay out on time, pay what they agreed to pay you and don’t hassle you with anything in between.

The potential payouts are HUGE.
You can make well over $2,000 dollars a month with 21 sign-ups! $2,625 dollars to be exact. With Hostgator’s $0.01 cent deal, you’re customers will pay a total of $0.21 cents and you’ll make $2,625 from it! What the hell? That’s amazing!

The technical support that Hostgator offers is excellent. It makes the dollar or two extra/month well worth it. Both phone and IM are extremely responsive.

Hostgator is a leading host and having thousands of sites hosted on there servers. You can surely go with them. However if you budget is lower then there asking price, check for forums like webhostingtalk of freehostforum for hosting offers.

I have used Hostgator for some time now and I am quite pleased with them. I find that for the level of service and what you actually get vs what you are promised it is very much a value. I have never had any reliability issues and they are very responsive to trouble tickets and the like. The affiliate program is great and even though I don't work it hard I am usually pleasantly pleased to see the money in my Paypal. Yes they do have the one cent promo but I stay away from that in general because they have a 60 day hold on commissions and I find that a lot of people cancel after the first month

I have seen many peoples hosting their websites with hostgator, I see it's advertisements heavily in the websites I wonder how it is as a host. I haven't got any hosting experience with them till now.

I have went through about 5 web hosting companies then thought I would try hostgator. I had no clue on what I was doing when trying to build a website. I would email support and within five minutes they responed back. Never have had to wait and they have been very helpful and got me up and running. I recommend them 100%
