  • What Web Host are you using?

Hi. I’m new to this forum and new to building my own site. Because of the fact that most people on a particular site it frequent recommended godaddy, I choose them to register my domain name and also website tonight, which is self-hosted, to build the site. Well, website tonight is not that great and has many limitations even for my very limited knowledge at this point. I wanted to add Zen Cart to the website and am being told by godaddy support that website tonight does not support Zen Cart. I have come up with another Host but would like your input as to WHO YOU USE; I have done a lot of searching on this forum, but yet to find a consensus pointing to any ONE good host. Most of the searches do however point to staying away from godaddy as a host.

I wouldn't use Godaddy as a host, there are many hosts that are much better. I use HostGator, and i personally think that they're awesome. Their prices are good, their support is awesome, and I've never had a problem with them. I definitely recommend them.

Speaking as former user of Godaddy hosting they are pretty bad.

I use the one I reccomend in my sig link and have been very pleased for almost 20 months now.

I use both godaddy.com and hostgator.com, although I recommend hostgator over godaddy.com. For buying domains, I always go with godaddy.

Hostgator's price value, support and hosting are very good most of the time. I've had very little downtime in the years that I've had sites hosted with them and their support is usually very knowledgeable, fast and helpfull.

I've never had a problem with godaddy's hosting, however, with regards to hosting, the price value isn't the best.

I have been using different web Hosting plans, but i am really comfortable with bluehost hosting plan. they are good, i have never faced any problem, but they are very strict about their policies. Never host a Proxy or any other illegal stuff

I used Mediatemple in the past and I must say they are great. Sure they aren't the cheapest, but they are really reliable and their support always almost immediately. Totally recommended.

Currently not hosted. The last one was webhostingbuzz.com - the company is really worth of trust, being a great host. They now have even better deals than formerly, when I signed up, so I suppose they would be potential provider for the next projects.

I can highly recommend you to check out simplehelix.com because this guys really know how to keep everything working. You will find out the availability of their systems administrators and send them a support ticket and see how fast they respond.

Last host I used was webhostgiant.com - this company has cheap rates and great uptime stats.

Highly recommended for forums and weblogs.

Currently not hosted. Last one I have had a good experience witrh was MMhosting.com. Cheap, large and stable host.

When I launch a new project they are first candidate to place it on.
