How much downtime do you accept from a hosting provider before finding a new host? What if you noticed downtime for a few minutes each week but that was all (could you live with that?)

If it's only a few minutes a week then probably as long as they have a good reason for it.█ Jonathan H. - IGXHost.com - High Performance Virtual Private Servers NOW AVAILABLE!

No company can give you 100% uptime, though you don't expect this.To be honest ,that's the fact.If it possible,i think all the hosting provider want to promise you 100% uptime.Originally posted by KCareConnectionsThanks for the input. I guess the problem with this hosting company is that they never give any reason for the downtime. They just say, No company can give you 100 percent uptime. I do not expect this, but when it happens on a weekly basis it seems a bit excessive.Hostease Web Hosting

Not more than 0.1%. Web hosting server has to do some server maintenance so downtime is expected. Just get a hosting that has multiple servers around the world so when one of the server goes down, only one of your site will go down.

I'd hate it even if it's only a few minutes a week. To me, it's okay when it's a few minutes per month at most.

99.9% tends to be the standard...
If there are 31,556,926 seconds in a year then with 99.9% uptime there is only 31,557 seconds of downtime which is 525.95 minutes of downtime or 8.76 hours of downtime a year. There will always be downtime with a server: You need to do reboots, upgrades, updates, etc.█ Zorveo Networks
