I have a mate whos domain gets spanked by dDos quite regularly. I think its a personal attack.
Now hes just bought himself a dedicated server (managed) and although hes hardened it to the best of his knowledge (lsf, tcp/ip stack etc), I was wondering if would it be possible to get some cheap dDos hosting or a cheap dDos covered VPS, and reroute the domain to his dedicated server? would this work?
Basically using the ddos hosting or vps as a proxy rather than paying £1000's for a server proxy (his dedi cannot take a hardware firewall apparently).
Any ideas?
