  • Hosts without a stable site?

There are lots of new hosts every day. The last time I see more and more hosts who just post on forums with awesome deals, but they don't have their own site.
I know some of them can be really good, but I don't have experience with any of them.
Does anyone know if 'no-site-hosts' stay alive long and if they are reliable?

They are absolutely no reliable. Most of these hosting "companies" are nothing but scammers running for your money.

its true. Always do a whois on the domain as well. you can find out ALOT by a simple whois function about a company. If they have no solid source of contact, or even a support function other than email, i would be very wary!

        Unstable site = No go.

Also, if the site loads slowly, that means that you might even be placed on an even slower server as is often the case and thus your site will load even slower.

It depends on the hosts packages.

Some hosts make ridiculous packages and causes them to have losses of webspace and monthly transfer. The ones to trust is the ones that 1.) Don't give ridiculous packages 2.) Seem professional and reliable 3.) Don't seem slow.

You may think, hosts force forum posting and not ads and you're prosuming they will be gone in like 24hrs. Well, your wrong. They force forum posting to boost up activity and then eventually they will be super active, they get accepted by adsense and they get a profit.

If a host looks reliable to you, don't take other peoples opinions, they may be wrong. Just choose the host you most trust.

I definetly wouldn't trust them, many are just resellers out for a quick buck! I won't purchase any hosting unless they have a simple website

Re: Hosts without a stable site?

I am starting hosting sites too. Before I think about my plans I make my web hosting page. A new domain name for it, a unique design and all the info my future clients will need. I started selling hosting to some close friends, but my clients need to see something when they want to find out more about my plans.

So .. Any serious business man (it's a business in the end) should provide a host site just as any designer should put together a portfolio site.

I agree with Dojo and I have to amit that many hosting services are scams but you can look out for the free ones by checking for reviews and searching google for the name, thins is probably the best way to check that the host is real.

A lot of what I see lately saddens me. You come across dozens of hosting sites, that while they do own a website, it is incomplete, or nearly every word on the page is misspelled, yet the website is advertised on banners and links on popular websites. People without the patience to finish a website, or spell the name of their hosting plans correctly shouldn't be able to sell hosting.
