difference between window and mac web hosting

i want to buy web hosting for my personal website but i am getting confuse while i am going to buy by seeing this options choose window hosting or mac hosting so anybuddy could please explain me what is the difference between both ?

Windows hosting using Windows server like WIndows server 2003 and like this Mac hosting uses MAC web server. I suggest you to go with Linux hosting which is cheap with great support.

It is obviously given in name as window hosting means it is hosted in window operating system while Mac hosting is operated in mac web server now if the question is about which is better than it is something I can’t really say much since I have not used any of these too much so not aware of it too much.
