We are running into minor trouble which we have not solved yet. We also contacted our hosting support which changed something (see below) but it still does not work. Googling doesn't yield the information we need!
Scenario:
We have a number of domains and a hosting which will provide an unique IP for each domain.
We want to set ip up that each domain
like www domain1 com gets its OWN nameserver listed like ns1 domain1 com ... then domain2 com ns1 domain2 com you get the idea.
Now i already set up customer nameservers which was no problem by using ONE custom nameserver across domains, but cant figure out how to do it with custom nameservers for EACH single domain.
What we did:
* registered ns1 domain1 com ns2 domain1 com + the IP for this domain as nameserver on the registrar
* Add this nameserver at the registrar for this domain.
At the hosting side:
Set up site (using interworx panel, very similar to cpanel), and then edit DNS zone + edited the records.
Changed the NS records for this domain, let them point to ns1 domain1 com and ns2 domain com respective - and support ALSO added two more A records for ns1 domain1 com and ns2 domain com
It either has not propagated yet or made some mistake and oversaw something!?
I would especially be interested in exactly what needs to be in DNS records (which IMO looks fine)..or maybe someone else can help?
Thanks
