I don't know about the cost but i know what is VPS !

VPS = Virtual Private server which is not physically present it is like an imaginary

And my friend was selling $20 per month for 10 Gb space and 150 GB Bandwidth and 512 Ram with firewall and many scripts

Hello there. As far as I know semi dedicated an VPS is the same. But on sever you can run as semi dedicates or VPS as well. I have heard some words about Webhostingbuzz.com. As usual they were kind ones.

          Webhostingbuzz.com writes:
Semi-dedicated hosting from WebHostingBuzz is designed with the power user in mind. Shared hosting just doesn't cut it for some websites; those that demand high CPU and memory allocations will probably have struggled with shared hosting in the past.
It seems that a semi-dedi is something medium between a shared hosting and a VPS/dedi. Am I right?

Hello. All depend on what you need. If you need something bigger that shared or reseller package go with webhostingbuzz.com semidedicated offer (it seems not to expencive for me http://www.webhostingbuzz.com/websit...icated-hosting). I guess it would be better to use with static sites.
And if you need something smaler than dedicated - consider VPS offers.

Webhostingbuzz.com's semi-dedi costs only $35 per month. Moreover, they provide a free domain for life. I haven't met this offer anywhere before.

Webhostingbuzz.com states about a domain for life:
We will register and maintain your domain name for as long as your account is active with WebHostingBuzz, at no extra charge to yourself.

I think to that time you are with Webhostingbuzz.com, you'll have this domain. When you change them, you'll lose it or have to transfer it to the other web hosting company.

Semi-dedicated is very much like shared, it's only that you have more guaranteed resources, as webhostingbuzz.com statwes they have only 40 users per server. For me the only question is how much space is each user allotted? What if one of these users would have lots if sites?

If the users have a lot of web sites, it would be better to use a dedi. Webhostingbuzz.com offers them too and their price range is from $259 per month to $349 per month. They are fully managed dedicated servers.
