  • Recommended Storage for website Backup

What storage would site owners prefer to back up their websites on? I am looking at the following options:-
    - Dedicated server
    - DigitalOcean block storage
    - AWS EBS based storage

We have an option to sync backup data to any S3 compliant/BackupBlaze, from storage server. Would user prefer dedicated server as storage? Besides we have an option to sync to multiple destinations, for Geo redundancy.

I am inclined towards dedicated servers, cause I can let Hosting provider have their own storage, so that they can sell backup service to their hosting customers. And the storage nodes can be near Hosting server, for super fast backup.

USB stick. Small, cheap and convenient, USB sticks are everywhere, and their portability means that they're easy to store safely, but also pretty easy to lose.

In my opinion, Dropbox is one of the best remote storage for website backups, because most of backup plugins get the support for Dropbox. For example, with over two millions active installations, Updraftplus, ******* backup plugin and All in one WP migration both support for uploading webiste backups to Dropbox. If you are a tech savvy and manually backup your website, the best option is the reliable and economic one. For more beginners, the remote storage option depends on using which backup tool to create backups.

Dropbox is a really popular location for storing WordPress backups for multiple reasons, especially if your site doesn’t have a large database size. It is economical, easy to use and comes integrated with 2GB of free space with every account. The best part is that you can gain access to your WordPress backups from every computer that is authenticated with your Dropbox account. This means that Dropbox will sync the backup files, every time they are changed/added to the cloud. Once synced, these files remain on your device even when you are offline.

So if you don’t have online access, you can still go to your Dropbox folder and find your backups there. Another great feature Dropbox has to offer is that you can share files with others (even non-Dropbox users) in view-only mode, making it easy for you to share files with anyone.
