  • What is the different between VPS to Cloud Hosting?

when I need VPS and when i need Cloud ?
Which is more profitable ? and why ?

Can you give the answer broadly and clearly ?

Hi, I'll explain what are the differences of VPS & Cloud as well as when do you use it and which is better. But what do you mean by profitable?? Are you looking at reselling hosting?

    VPS Hosting
The architecture is one which has multiple individual dedicated slots on the same virtual machine. Each slot can be assigned to dedicated resources. Nonetheless, the technology generally works on a time-shared or resource-shared phenomenon. One of the major disadvantages that are stopping the VPS hosting industry to reach to the next level is its vulnerability that can cause a particular slot or resource go down in any crash scenario and the application or website on that particular space will be unavailable with no redundant online availability unless and until the issue is fixed.

But, there remains a possibility, although in exceptional cases, where a major trouble hitting a certain slot, such as unexpectedly excessive traffic on a random day or DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack, can cause the entire machine and the subsequent applications to go down as all the resources belong to the same machine.

    Benefits of VPS Hosting:

    • VPS hosting offers total and complete freedom. Free to manage your server as you like, you have access to everything and you can install all the software you need.
    • Hosting in VPS is very efficient. Unlike shared hosting, the VPS is not dependent on traffic or audience. You have your own resources and you are isolated from other servers.
    • Hosting in VPS is secure. All your files are private and inaccessible to other clients regardless of their rights on the server.

    Cloud Hosting
Cloud hosting is the hosting solution available presently. The technology has already achieved a tremendous level of acceptance in a short period of time. Websites hosted on the cloud are accessible anytime, anywhere. Which means hosting resources for each website are replicated on every cloud server in the cluster. For example, if one cloud server has maximum traffic already, then it automatically routes the query for the specific site to the idle cloud server in the cluster.

In other words, cloud runs the web hosting services, like files storage, SSH, FTP, SFTP, and email services (for e.g. SMTP), etc., on many different servers simultaneously.
This simultaneous allocation of equal resources on the cloud servers in the cluster provides a great deal of reliability. For example, if one of the machines malfunctions, it will not cause a failure or disruption in the entire hosting service.

    Benefits of Cloud Hosting:

    • Cloud hosting is relatively reliable because your website is hosted on a virtual partition that takes advantage of multiple physical networks. When one of the servers goes offline, it will slightly reduce the resource level to the cloud but will not add up to your website. No inaccessibility or anything else.
    • Cloud hosting is secured by many physical servers that are protected from third-parties who want to access their premises or interrupt their services.
    • Cloud hosting is extensible, flexible, and scalable. It does not have the same constraints as a single server. Resources are available according to your requests and in real time.
    • Cloud hosting is economical because you only pay for what you use.

    Which server to choose?
VPS hosting is generally less efficient since it allocates a specified amount of computing resources to each client. Hence, if the requirement increases, the system would not be able to handle the additional inflow. It will simply crash. Same would be the case if the server malfunctions.

While Cloud hosting, tackles the increase differently. Under the cloud environment, the website is hosted on a pool of unified computing resources. This simply means that if one server is reaching its peak level, then a second server is ready to function. The same goes to when a server fails, the website will still be running as other servers will continue to serve the incoming traffic.

If you want reliability and powerful functionality, then Cloud hosting is a great choice. The recent price slashes in cloud infrastructure from Amazon and the likes shows that the market has immense growth potential. Furthermore, it shows that cloud hosting is getting affordable too.

VPS is made for people who are interested in hosting just a website. While it is powerful, VPS does not guarantee uptime should your website fails due to high traffic or a technical glitch.

    Hope It Helps! Cheers!

Cloud hosting is an alternative to hosting websites on single servers (either dedicated or shared servers) and can be considered as an extension of the concept of clustered hosting where websites are hosted on multiple servers.

Please check below the difference between VPS and Cloud Hosting:

        1.VPS
        > Instant Scalability: Upgrades in an instant and does not require reboots
        > Flexibility: Move a VPS to another VPS quickly and smoothly
        > Shared available resources: Processor speed, Disk Space and Memory

        2.Cloud Hosting:
        > All available resources are integrated, providing high shared resource availability
        > Extremely flexible
        > Available resources include Bandwidth CPU usage and Memory utilization

Cloud servers are similar to a VPS hosting environment. The key difference is that instead of having a single server that's dedicated to your site (as is the case with VPS), the resources are spread out amongst a bunch of different physical machines.

VPS hosting is a private server hosting. This server hosting crash sometimes. On the other hands cloud hosting provide you hosting through applications. This hosting provides great deal of reliability.

VPS Hosting : VPS in easy terms is wherever one physical server is split into smaller virtual servers employing a virtualization technology. VPS offers flexibility together with complete control/root access to the server. VPS is often less costly as compared to cloud hosting. The user will modify the settings on server to regulate it in keeping with the necessities. Though a shared setting, VPS shoppers will take leverage of dedicated environments with specific resource allocations. With VPS hosting, dedicated IP’s are often allotted to every account.

Cloud Hosting : Cloud hosting offers larger flexibility because it is extended to multiple physical machines pooling in their resources into one. The space for storing, further because the alternative resources, are often scaled up/down as per necessities. If any physical server runs down or fails, the virtual machines or VM’s are transported mechanically to alternative servers inside identical cluster, avoiding the period leading to the cloud hosting to be a lot of reliable. Though the load of alternative cloud client will increase, the computing resources — RAM, computer hardware performance and information measure being pooled-in by multiple physical servers — ends up in a close to unlimited offer of resources. The cloud server is less complicated to answer custom necessities.

                  Hello,

VPS Hosting: VPS servers are also known as Virtual Private Servers. This style of hosting is essentially one physical server, which is then divided into several smaller virtual servers. Each one of these virtual servers acts as its own dedicated server environment.

As I Know A major difference between a VPS and a private cloud is the location of the hardware. A virtual private server is generally hosted at an off-site, third-party web hosting provider. And cloud is little costlier than VPS server.

In comparison to VPS, Cloud hosting is more reliable as the data is distributed in the network of servers linked together. in case of a downtime or traffic surges on one server, the load is shifted to another server in the network.

vps stands for virtual private server and cloud is a shared hosting.

vps is virtually a dedicated server but still has some limitations, cloud is beyond the shared hosting and it provides a unlimited true facilities when upgrades requires.
