  • HostGator V.S. IPowerWeb

In your opinion which shared hosting company is better HostGator or IPowerWeb and why?

In my opinion HostGator has the better shared hosting plans since they offer unlimited space and bandwidth with wonderful free 24/7 support. However do you think that IPowerWeb has the superior plans due to its low prices?

I have always had good luck with HostGator in the couple years of hosting with them. Very inexpensive and reliable. During the entire time of hosting, I cant think of ever needing to contact support, so I cant give a review of that.

Hostgator is a privately owned company founded in 2002 that has no debt, is very profitable, and has NO intentions of selling any time soon. Hostgator provides service to over 400,000 websites on their shared and reseller plans.

Both are good & as far as shared hosting is concerned as much as care you need to take your end with the help your web master if you are not the designer of your site. Regarding server issue you can contact them.

"unlimited space and bandwidth" are a joke for any hosting company if you overtax any shared server your going to here about it you can only put so many HD's in a server and bandwidth cost money. I have heard good things about hostgator though and I am sure there service is good. I cant comment on the other company.

Provide unlimited space and bandwidth is not feasible for any hosting company. This nothing but the marketing strategy.

Providing unlimited hosting space plus bandwidth is possible for the companies but do you know just how? Assume for instance that a leading company like IpowerWeb provides such options to its hundreds of thousands of members.

You may find only some hundreds of heavy users as thousands of the others would be using lighter sites like blogs and so no shortage of resources would occur.

Any hosting plan which offers this is actually worse. I would recommend Ipowerweb over hostgator simply because they dont advertise unlimited, and actually seem to provide realistic amounts of resources for a realistic price. Their servers dont seem to be oversold, which in the end means faster more reliable performance.

I have not hosted with iPowerWeb yet, however, I have being hosting some of my sites with HostGator for a few years and in my opinion, HostGator is the best cheap, shared host that I have tried so far. This is mainly because of their service, which is honestly 24/7, which includes phone, online chat and email support.

My sites have had very little downtime and their cPanel makes it easy to manage my domains. With this being said, I don't have any one site hosted with them that receives major traffic
