Do you mean creating a web sever at home ? I don't think it's very practical thing to do. You need a static IP from your ISP providers which are quite expensive.

You can take an old pc and turn it into a server by installing lamp on it. But make sure your isp allows you to host servers. Some do and some don't.

If you really want your own server, your best bet is to buy a collocation with some good datacenter. So 1rack would do the thing.

i dont mean to sound rude, but if you dont know what your doing, this really isnt for you, customers would trust you with there websites, i would first go away learn what is involved, and then, practice, and then learn some more, and maybe come back in a year or two ?

Creating your own server is always a good idea, but you should have the amount of knowledge and money to do so.
