Google Possum is an algorithm for the Local results. Its the main algorithm for Google Loca Business after Pegion update.

After Google Possum algorithm the business which were outside the city premises saw ranking after this update.

Google is updating the address of the listing in the Google My Business listings. so overall after this update many local listing candidates are growing businesses with Google Possum
