curtbrock: The best software is definately Adobe. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator are the key programs any designer should use. The computer should be quite good, at least 4GB of RAM in you are doing Web Design, 1TB disk, average or better graphic card, good processor and what I find most important - big screen. Or even two.

And the worst program is Paint
