pattern size??

Hello all!

I was wondering if there is anyway to just create one tile from a pre-existing pattern. Or at least find out a particular patterns dimensions then create a new file with those dimensions and fill it with that pattern.

Different patterns have different sizes and dimensions. I just want to past a solitary copy of it so I can tile for a background image on a website.

OK, I think I have the gist of what you want to achieve and here is what I would do using photoshop.

Take the image you want to tile and crop and cut out the section you need.

Under Image Size, alter the pixel size of the image to suit your needs.

Depending on the quality of the image you might need to do some tweaking here.

In CSS, apply the background in the body tag as follows:

body {
background-image: url(myfile.jpg);
background-repeat: repeat;
}

Where "myfile.jpg" is the name and location of the file you have created.

This will create a full tile of the image. behind your site.

I may have gone into too much detail (or even not enough) but I hope this helps.
