I am learning web designing from an institute in India. I have always been confused about which platform should be chosen to make a website like HTML or PHP or .NET or Wordpress. Everybody seems to have a different option. My faculty did try to answer this question for me, but I am not yet satisfied with her explanation.Can somebody explain me the which platform is best for creating websites and why?Please try to explain in simple English as my English is not good.

Well, HTML is the language the browser reads to make a webpage.
PHP is a server side scripting language used to send different HTML to a page.
.NET is a framework for a number of MIcrosoft languages. On the server side ASP.NET is common.

Both are good, PHP is most common and easier to learn in my opinion..

I would say start understanding basics first. Write some basic static client stuffs first and later move on to server side programming.

Well PHP, HTML and Asp.net these are language that are used for website designing and development. According to market scenario PHP is best programing language for website designing because PHP is open source and easy to learn and use.

I think you should use HTML with PHP or HTML with .Net. In which language you are perfect you can that language either PHP or .net
