Hi Everybody,
Tough, now most of the internet users are switching to broadband connections, still a large part of population is stick on to old dial-up connections only. It is therefore very significant to design your website while keeping both the internet users in mind, instead of concentrating only on broadband users. I am saying this because website takes more time in loading on dial-up connections and while designing your website you need to take your sites loading time into consideration.

Internet users are very impatient and they don't wait for any website that takes too long to get loaded. It just takes them a few seconds to leave a website that loads very slowly and they never come back to those sites. Website with fast loading time are not only favorite of the internet users but of search engines as well.

Usually the site that has most of the text only, loads very fast. Problem is with the images basically. Images slow down the loading time of your website drastically. It doesn't mean that you should not use images, use images but after optimizing your images so that your images don't become a problem in website loading.

Here you will get some tips, with the help of which you will be able to reduce the load time of your website by image optimization :

Use png format for images. It is not much smaller than jpg but when all images on your web site come together the difference is noticable. Also where ever you can repeat the image. For example instead of making a background image that is 800x600px make an image that is 10x10px and make it repeat horizontally and vertically and it will save a lot of loading time. If your page background is made out of different color or texture images you are still better off making 1 container that will repeat 1 color 10x10 image and another container for where you want the diferent color image.
