  • Do you design for IE or FF?

    Hello,

You all know that your website can never look the same in two different browers, but most designers make sure their sites look perfect in both IE and FF.

When I design a website I always design it to look good in IE then I see what modifications need to be done to make it also look nice in FF.

I've always designed with IE in mind
Although FF is starting to gain popularity, but IE is still much more popular than FF is..

Generally I design for Firefox and IE. But I make sure I also test sites using Netscape and Opera. I test WAP sites using Opera.

For the most part, if your site looks good in Fire Fox it will look good in IE. I would strongly recommend that any webmaster considers both browsers when designing their site. IE may be more popular today who knows what will happen next week or next year.

Re: Do you design for IE or FF?

I try to do so. I spend a lot of time trying to adjust and make my site looks perfectly set in both web browsers, but I usually care more about IE than FF.

I usually do most of my testing in FF and then when im ready to release it to the world I just do a quick test to make sure nothing breaks in IE...would probably be better to do it the other way around though

The test of a true designer is how many browsers they test in ... you should be at least checking IE, firefox, opera and safari as well as doing seperate checks in different operating systems.

Re: Do you design for IE or FF?

As I use Firefox I do stuff to fit FF, but then I go and check it with IE and when I notice erros I go and fix them so it looks good in IE too.

I always look at it in Fire Fox first, then IE. And when there are errors in usually minor errors in the div tags, and such.

However, most of the time the errors appear in IE rather than in FireFox. I also check in another computer to verify

Firefox since its less buggy and css follows.

I don't think there is a choice in the matter. You need to design for both as they are both widely used. If it does not work right in either you will be alienating a large number of viewers.
