Favorite forums system?

I don't think it is every useful to pay for something that you can get for free.Many successful sites use PHPBB2. It is free and very customizable.

The vbulletin online forum site is what I have really been impressed about. It is very obvious that my preference is all due to the color combination and the whole matter of user interface simplicity.

My preferred message panel application is Invision Energy Board. It's the application that I got used to community message boards with, so, that's probably why. As for no cost application application though, probably PHPBB. Relatively custom, and there are a reasonable quantity of awesome styles. Only element I don't like about PHPBB is that it seems to get compromised a reasonable quantity. But, that's not PHPBB's mistake, of course. Usually it's the mistake of the internet marketers that don't bring up to date their application.

Well windows obviously though I am a Software developer.Unix is fast and secure but don't mind , not user friendly at all.

And in Windows it's not vista because it eats up a lot of space and RAM, and most of my engineering tools don't work.Vista needs a lot more versions and up gradations.Its very much new now.
Windows XP is very good I will say.

I like vBulletin, though they could improve it A LOT more, it's still one of the best forum software out there. IPB would be my backup or secondary pick!

My favorite forum software is Invision Power Board. It's the software that I got used to forums with, so, that's probably why. As for free software though, probably PHPBB. Relatively customizable, and there are a fair amount of nice themes. Only thing I don't like about PHPBB is that it seems to get hacked a fair amount. But, that's not PHPBB's fault, of course. Generally it's the fault of the webmasters that don't update their software. I myself have procrastinateed updating software and was hacked because of it. So, I can most certainly say that being hacked isn't fun.
